Project Highlights

My project experience has been quite varied. From managing real estate marketing print projects and proposal, to managing a team of 60+ architects, engineers, and designers on the development of a new hospital facility. No two projects are alike, and I thoroughly enjoy the process of learning each client's needs and helping my teams achieve success through effective planning and management.

RCH REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, PHASE ONE

Project Manager

Working with the contractor, project director and discipline leads, I managed the design team through the successful bid phase for this Design-Build Mental Health Substance Use and Wellness Facility at RCH. I managed and coordinated design deliverables to ensure submission documents were compliant; issued, tracked, and responded to inquiries to and from the Authority; provided cost and schedule control; and procurement of sub-consultants.

Through project phase, I worked closely with the Stantec site leads to manage the flow of information between the contractor and design team. I also managed the ongoing compliance review process to ensure the design met the project agreement and facilitated collaboration between design disciplines and client teams to resolve issues due to conflicting requirements in the contract documents. Further to this, I developed the construction administration plan and other important process documents on the project, ensuring all parties clearly understood the requirements and that their deliverables were in alignment with the plan.

NORTH ISLAND HOSPITALS PROJECT

Assistant Project Manager

I worked closely with the project manager through design phase to provide day-to-day project oversight for this $600 million project involving the design and construction of two new hospitals on Vancouver Island.

 

I managed the design team through major design delivery stages including participating in design reviews with the health authority and general contractor. I facilitated communication between disciplines and with the general contractor, and provided a primary point of contact for the client’s design manager on issues of scope, contract, and delivery. I also worked with the project architect to manage the design team’s efforts through completion, occupancy, and close out.

ST. PAUL'S HOSPITAL, LIGHTS OF HOPE

Logistics Manager

I managed all aspects of the display logistics for this major Christmas Lights fundraiser from 2008 through the 2010 campaign. The Lights of Hope is an annual fundraising campaign to support St. Paul’s Hospital. The display is built by volunteers using donated materials. 


This hands-on, site-based role involved solicitation of in-kind donors for supplies and equipment (from scaffolding and man-lifts, to electrical components and signage); ongoing analysis of systems and implementation of changes/improvements; managing the site during testing, set-up and tear-down events; liaising with the client, major stakeholders, and the public; recruitment and coordination of volunteers.

MINING ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROJECT SCHEDULING

Lead Scheduler

I led the scheduling team through the development of detailed project schedules for two concurrent mining environmental assessment projects. The role involved meeting with each environmental sciences lead individually to understand their processes, including input and output requirements, and estimated timelines for fieldwork, lab processing, analysis, and report writing. Once the draft schedules were produced, I met with the project management team to resolve conflicts and create a strategy for refining the schedule to meet the clients needs and the regulatory submission timelines.

Through execution phase, I worked with the discipline leads to complete a weekly lookahead process to identify potential schedule risks.
